Our Campus

The University occupies three floors of the building:

The First Floor

Offering a warm welcome to all our students and staff, the reception and Student Services team are situated on the first floor. The dynamic space creates a communal area for our students with an extensive library, study rooms, and self-study zones, all equipped with modern and comfortable furniture. The first floor is home to the main reception, as well as dedicated study space and rooms.

A modern and student-centric space, it offers a perfect environment for personal study or group-work.

You will also find academic and student support staff on the first floor.

The Sixth Floor

The sixth floor hosts our three mobile IT labs, offices, large and small seminar rooms, and also our career services department. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and contemporary furniture which complements our calm and spacious working environment.

The Seventh Floor

Home to our lecture theatre, a quiet learning zone, more offices and seminars and our amazing rooftop terrace with a stunning view over the city, the seventh floor is abundant with impressive features. Apart from daily use for learning and teaching, this floor was designed to host conferences, as well as networking and corporate events.

Entertainment and Social Spots

Expanding across the first and seventh floor, our entertainment and social spots are there for both students and staff to use. Students have access to the student kitchen, ping pong, table football, and gaming zone with an Xbox and PlayStation. For fun events, speakers, music and a karaoke machine are also all available for the students to use.

Accessibility on Campus

Our Lancaster University Leipzig campus is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that all individuals have equal opportunities to navigate and engage with the university environment. Wheelchair users will find our campus fully accessible, with elevators, and wide doorways available in all key areas, including lecture halls, library, student learning zone and student lounge. We have accessible restrooms to accommodate diverse needs. We have also implemented inclusive technology solutions, such as captioning and assistive listening systems, to ensure that students with hearing impairments can actively participate in lectures and discussions. Additionally, our campus fosters a culture of inclusivity, offering resources and support services provide assistance when needed. By continuously striving to improve accessibility, we aim to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and pursue their academic aspirations without barriers.

The roof terrace offers a unique space for our students to relax, connect and enjoy the beautiful city of Leipzig. The terrace has also been the venue for a number of rather competitive table tennis matches!

In and Around our Campus

Directly in the inner city, the campus is just 500 metres away from the main train station and all local tram lines. The “ring” surrounding the inner city of Leipzig is brimming full of cafes, bars, restaurants and many shopping opportunities. Weekly markets occur on the marketplaces and many events throughout the year make the city a lively and exciting place to be a part of.

Whether your interest lies in sporting events, cultural activities such as visiting museums and art galleries, or finding quieter spots of nature to relax in – Leipzig really does have it all.

We are proud to be able to offer our students a complete holistic student experience – including individualised support (welfare, career development, language support, etc.). Our location inside the city centre of Leipzig further allows us to help students to enjoy all that is special about this time of their lives.
