Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Latest Information

Did you know you can study without Abitur or A-Levels?

March 19, 2020

LU Leipzig offers entry to university for students without Abitur and A-Levels.

More and more states are delaying or cancelling the A-Level exams due to the spread of COVID-19. The first German state to announce a delay in the yearly Abitur exam was Bavaria, which announced the delay this week. This type of news greatly concerns final year students over the impact these delays might have on their applications to universities worldwide. The good news is that Lancaster University Leipzig has always offered two entry points to students and those are:

  • Foundation Year + Bachelor’s Degree

Length: 4 years (1 year Foundation + 3 year BSc)

Degree: Bachelor of Science (Hons)

No Abitur needed (Realschule is sufficient)

No A-Levels needed

  • Direct Entry into Bachelor’s Degree

Length: 3 years

Degree: Bachelor of Science (Hons)

Do not worry if your Abitur or A-Level exams are delayed or cancelled! You still have the chance to start your undergraduate programme at Lancaster University Leipzig in September 2020.

Technology enables us to teach all courses online if necessary. Therefore, the September 2020 intake will take place either on campus or online.
